I suddenly can't send email. Error is "check outgoing server SMTP setttings". These have not changed. running version 91.3.2. Current port is 465 Security :SSL/TLS

ISP is Optus. The only check they were interested in was, can I send from Optus webmail - which I can.

Grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks

I find references that suggest Optus supports secure connections, such as SSL/TLS on 465, but the Optus site doesn't mention them. They only recommend mail.optusnet.com.au on 587 (or possibly 25), connection security = none, authentication = password, transmitted insecurely, User Name = email address.

If SSL/TLS on 465 worked before, a TB update might be incompatible with an antivirus app, especially if the AV app is scanning the TB profile folder. What is the AV and its mail settings?

Thanks for your response. I’m running Norton - where would I look for the mail settings ?

Add the TB profile folder as an exclusion:

Hi I have two email accounts in my TB, they both sit in the same profile folder. Its only the Optus one that I can't send from. That would suggest the AV isn't the issue?

I just tried port 25 - all good.

Thanks for your help !!!!
