What happened to "Print Preview & Simplify Page" after the latest update 2/9/2022? Same thing happened last year.

Thanks, Ken

Chosen solution

Hi Ken, when you are on a page where Simplify is available, there will be a "bubble" for it on the settings panel, in a section called Format (see attached screenshot). You generally can predict whether Simplify will be available for a page because when it is, the Reader view icon will be in the address bar for the page.

Yes that works but doesn’t allow you to “simplify page” from “print”. I would choose “file”, then “print preview” (can’t remember if it was above or below “print”), then “simplify page”. What this did was simplify the page so that all the advertisements and clutter were gone and just the text remained. It was great. It disappeared last year as well after an update. Wish I knew why it keeps going away. They fixed it last year after many complaints. Attached is where I used to choose it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ken

Thanks jscher2000! I just figured that out last night and was going to respond to you this morning anyway. Yes that works great. Just like before, only getting at it in a different way. I appreciate your help!

Thanks Again! Ken

"Format" section bubble [Original Simple] does not even appear in the setting! How do I get it back?

It should appear on the panel if either of these is true:

  • Reader View/Reader Mode is available for the page -- the methods used for Simplify and Reader Mode are largely the same
  • You selected text in the page (Selection appears in the Format section)
