Since firefox's latest update I am unable to access my online PNC banking account. PNC says that Firefox is no longer compatible with their online banking system. I'm using an IMAC computer. Does anyone know what's causing the problem or am I being forced to use a different browser ? My e-mail address is[email removed from public] Thank You

You can check for issues with Total Cookie Protection.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages about blocked content.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

None of this helps. All far too tedious. Firefox caused this problem with PNC and needs to fix it.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of unsafe content.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

this actually helped me access my PNC account. (clearing cache/"forget about this website"/clear startup cache did not work)

Firefox team. Please fix the issue with the PNC

Now I have this problem again and nothing of the above solutions works for me. Link to PNC : pnc.com But you need to have an account with PNC to see that issue. I guess this is it. Goodbye Firefox, I'll check if you fixed that issue in couple of years. Good luck

I had the same issue off and on for years. It works for a while, then at some point w a Mozilla upgrade it pops up again.

I love Mozilla Firefox and have supported them over the years. However, PNC is a decent sized bank with many users and I got so weary of this RECURRING problem.

Reluctantly, I switched to CCleaner browser. Great privacy and works with PNC, at least for the last year.
