Ok, this is a weird one.

I can't load https://duckduckgo.com. It breaks search in a new tab, but I also can't visit it directly from the url. The tab simply does not load.

I've cleared cache, cookies, and extensions. I've refreshed Firefox more than once.

I can visit https://html.duckduckgo.com. I can visit https://lite.duckduckgo.com.

However! In a private window, I can visit https://duckduckgo.com It still breaks in a secondary normal window.

No other site appears to be broken.

Okay... Clearing %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ didn't work.

But killing %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla did for some reason.

Further information:

It seems that Windows' KB5048685 was the culprit. During its background installation, multiple XML files in my %LOCALAPPDATA% had random bitflips. sfc was able to find most, but not repair them. Strangely, it really is just the XML files. Nothing else. The images, html, json, a few random sqlite dbs... All of those appear to be completely intact and fine.

But... I'm out of my depth, and things are working.
