My sister has a new laptop and new dongle - can surf, add items to baskets but can't make the actual purchase, it eventually times out. It's on various sites, eg paypal, Amazon, Next - what settings can I advise her to try changing?
She is using Windows 7 and is on 3 for her internet connection. She used her old laptop and dongle without any problem (they both broke within a few days of each other).

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
- "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
- "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
