All that is showing is the background theme at the top and the lower 2 thirds of the screen is blank. I had upgraded to version 4 on my windows 7 desktop and it worked good for a couple of weeks. I checked my xp pro laptop and it was also empty. I then installed version 4 on my xp pro laptop and it is still empty. The problem is on both computers. I'm not sure how to get my original setup back. There is not even an icon where I can click to "add stuff".

Several of your plugins are out of date and will have exposed your system to a number of exploits.

In the circumstances, I would recommend reinstalling Firefox. Here are the necessary steps for a clean installation.

Go to Download Firefox 4.0 and download a fresh installation file to the desktop.

Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).

Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Finally run the installation file you downloaded.

After you complete the installation, go to the Plugins Check page and update any which show up in either yellow or red.
