I downloaded Firefox and it asked if I wanted to import my bookmarks, history and cookies from Safari. I checked yes and now none of my bookmarks are in Firefox and when I went back to Safari to get them they were all gone from Safari as well.

Basically, it appears that Firefox has managed to lose all my most important bookmarks, which I have painstakingly gathered over the past year for an important project.

Hi thanks for the links but they haven't cleared up why firefox lost all my bookmarks and emptied my Safari bookmarks.

To repeat - the Bookmarks folder is completely empty and it also emptied all the bookmarks (apart from bookmark menu bar) from Safari.

This will cost me hours and hours of work! Great job Firefox.
