I can't access the bookmark backup file. I downloaded 16.0.2, supposedly, but the program is 15.xx.xx, which prompts to download 16.0.2, which I do but get 15.x

Downloaded 16.0.2. No bookmarks. Tried to restore from bookmarks backup, but "can' access file" Checked About Firefox, which turns out to be 15.0.1, and checks for updates. Download 16.0.2, again, and again. In a loop. Restarted computer. No difference. Need a program running with my important bookmarks available.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
