Recently my McAfee free trial ran out and as soon as that happened Firefox started to act weird. At any given moment the page stops working. When this happens it's generally when a new page is trying to load, as it has the loading icon in the tab bar, and sometimes the mouse switches over to a loading icon as well like usual. Then it just freezes. The page cannot be closed without opening Task Manager and ending the process, and even still it continues to run under the process tab.

Things I've Tried: Restarting the program Uninstalling and reinstalling the program changing the places database

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try some of the following programs to scan for malware:

Hi,

Have you tried to unistall McAfee?

It seems like the problem is related to it more than to Firefox. If uninstalling McAfee doesn't solve your issue I will suggest using Firefox Reset to clean your profile from potential broken entries: Reset Firefox preferences to troubleshoot and fix problems

I hope it helps. Ibai
