I have an android phone and recentlyy I bought an android tablet. In both I have Firefox as my default browser. My problem is I couldn't managed to sync the browser data from my android phone to android tablet. My phone's firefox says that "In your other device, go to sync and click 'Pair a device'" But I can't find it in my tablet's sync menü. Both devices give me a code but in my tablet I don't know where to type that code.

Ok great.

All three devices will now sync to one another. So the phone's browser data will appear in the tablet as you require.

Hello,

You will need a desktop Firefox to set up an account unfortunately. This could be done on any computer that can run Firefox. Might be good to use http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable for this purpose. You will need to make sure you get all 3 bits of info from the setup.

  • Sync username
  • Sync password
  • Sync key

Then use the manual setup options for Firefox Sync on your tablets.

I created a firefox sync account but why I need Firefox in my computer. I clicked pair a device button, entered the code in my phone's firefox to computer's one. Then the computer gave me a recovery key. But my phone says its wrong...

I honestly couldn't understand the sync logic. I just want to sync between my phone and tablet. When I install Firefox in my computer. Will 3 devices have the same personal browser data?

And another reason I couldn't understand is why the phone said that my recovery key is wrong.

If you have a sync account already set up then I think you can sync your mobile with your tablet using the 'Advanced Setup...' link. It is underneath the boxes that provide the code you mentioned above.

Now I have my computer with me but 'the recovery key is wrong' the phone keeps saying. I tried with dashes, while capslock on, without dashes but no result.

Ok. I think the best thing is to start from scratch. I am not sure whether all or just part of your three devices are syncing at all or not.

Start with at your computer and follow the instructions here:

How do I set up Sync on my computer?

Once you have created or logged into your account on the computer you can use the easy set up code from your tablet and phone to add them to the sync. You don't need the recovery key to set up if you follow the instructions there.

Thanks for the instructions. I already did and added the code into my computer. But I wonder if the computer will be the majör element in this sync. I want to use my phone's personal browser data in my tablet. Is it the 3 device's personal browser data will be synced or just the devices will get the data from the computer?
