Can you confirm if the Primus mail account is Pop or IMAP?

If Pop, then you already have them on your computer in a Thunderbird Profile.

If you have any emails stored in 'Local Folders' then these emails are already stored in your Thunderbird Profile.

If IMAP mail account, you need to subscribe to see folders, then you need to synchronise those folders to get a copy of the folder downloaded to Thunderbird. Although these folders show a copy on your computer these folders are constantly being updated to reflect what is on the server. More info on synchronising:

Now go into 'offline mode' - click on the two blue screen icon located bottom left in Task Bar, it will turn into a two black screen icon when 'offline'.

Now you can move emails from the IMap folders into any suitably named folders in 'Local Folders'. When you have copied/moved them you can delete them in the IMAP folder.

then go back 'online'.

Note that emails stored in Local Folders will need to be backed up as the only other copy will be deleted of the server.
