When I updated Firefox my Internet Explorer won't open
I also got McAfee security that I don't want. Tried to uninstall both Firefox and the McAfee but that didn't work either. Malwarebytes came up with a Firefox Setup Stub that they say is a Trojan.Dopper. So what can I do now? I run Window 8 on a Asus laptop

Did you get the installer from Mozilla.org ? Mozilla installers only have the program you want. Nothing else.
You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.
I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.
Start your Computer in safe mode. Then un-install what you don't want.
After removing all malware/trojans you can try a clean install from a reliable source to download Firefox: Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
- Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from mozilla.org (or choose the download for your operating system and language from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
- After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu and click the close button ).
- Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
- Windows:
- C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
- Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
- Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
- Windows:
- Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
- Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
- Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.
WARNING: Do not use a third party uninstaller as part of this process. Doing so could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. These cannot be easily recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device! See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.
Please report back to say if this helped you! Please post back with the results.
Thank you.

Firefox (for Windows, Mac OSX or Linux) from mozilla.org or by updates in Firefox does not come bundled with any applications or toolbars.
If you installed Flash player recently from say https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ then you can get McAfee if you are not careful.
Get Flash player (plugin based) from https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html so as to not get anything else.

Malwarebytes came up with a Firefox Setup Stub that they say is a Trojan.Dopper.False Positive if you got it from mozilla.org as some antivirus clients are still occasionally claiming to find something with the sub installer but not with the full setup. The sub installer has existed since Firefox18.0
