I transfered my files to a new computer and I am trying to sync up my old bookmarks since the old computer is wiped. Help!

I backed up my bookmarks and the files were turned into shortcuts that I can not access. I am trying to get to my old bookmarks through sync to restore them onto the new computer. Is there any way to access them?

Hi Shannon, had you previously created a Firefox account and used Sync to back up your data to that account? You should be able to connect your new Firefox to account using the steps in this article: How do I set up Sync on my computer? (second section, "Connect additional devices to Sync")

The individual files you mentioned might be Windows Favorites. If you copy them into the new Windows Favorites folder and check them using Internet Explorer, do they seem to contain your Firefox bookmarks? If so, Firefox can import your Windows Favorites (usually). Please see: Import Bookmarks and other data from Microsoft Edge.
