ghostery drastically slows FF browser

After having a very erratic start up time: and running FF healthcheck varies from 2-15 secs, and disabling Add-ons one by one, I discovered the slowness culprit is Ghostery. How can it be delayed on start up ...is there an interrupt timer ?
