my email is stuck on Oct 17,2015! How can i fix it???

email was working fine this morning. Around noon I checked my email but noticed that the last email was dated 10-17-15 ! It's been that way for hours. I turned the computer off 3 times but it is still stuck at the email we received 10-17-15. How an we fix that?

What is your account type - POP or IMAP? Do you get any error message?
