I've de-activated plug-ins, reinstalled a new version of Firefox, refreshed it, and yet it continues to crash every few minutes. Please help.

Sorry to hear about the crashes. That report shows Firefox was submitting a video acceleration task to the system at the time of the crash. This may indicate that Firefox is not fully compatible with your Nvidia GeForce driver software.

As a test, could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the option key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement? (More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode)

Thank you so much for your advice. I restarted in safe mode as you suggested. It crashed within 2 minutes.

I'm going to try your other suggestion to Upgrade graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL and see what happens. Fingers crossed.

Please post any new crash reports.

Thanks for asking, FredMcD. This is the latest crash report: bp-6d335c7f-a6f9-41b9-829d-2eac92151204

Upgrading graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL didn't work.

Signature GeForceVADriver

Remove or update this program. Also check their support site.

I would totally do that if I could find it or knew how to.

I looked at their website and it looks like they don't run on Mac so I don't understand how it could be the signature of the crashes I've experienced. I'm so confused!

Remove it to confirm.

Try to set media.apple.mp4.enabled to false on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
