My "Other Bookmarks" folder contains too much sub-folders and I suspect it slows the browser. I can't delete its sub-folders since it seems that "Other Bookmarks"folder is filling itself automatically again with all its sub-folders. So, how can I empty this folder?

The "Other Bookmarks" folder normally stores bookmarks that you create by clicking the star on the Navigation Toolbar. Bookmarks shouldn't appear in this folder automatically without you clicking the star.

There will only be sub folders in "Other Bookmarks" if you have created these yourself. You can move bookmarks that you want to keep to the Bookmarks Toolbar folder or to the Bookmarks Menu folder or otherwise delete these bookmarks.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
