Bookmarks toolbar disappeared and I can't get it to come back

I just performed "refresh firefox" after I was prompted to do so. Since then my bookmarks toolbar has disappeared, and I can't seem to get it back. The bookmarks are still saved (I can see them when I open up the bookmarks menu), but I can't get the toolbar to actually display in the firefox window. I have tried clicking View -> toolbars -> bookmarks toolbar and I've also tried going into the menu near top right (looks like books on a shelf with one leaning over) Bookmarks -> Bookmarling Tools -> View Bookmars Toolbar, but neither of these bring the toolbar back. How can I get it back? It's a really useful feature which I use all several times a day to get to my most commonly used websites.

Photon is a new design that creates a fluid, native experience on every operating system. There is more room above the tabs, the search bar and address bar now have the option to be combined or separated, and the menus in Firefox are organized by common tasks.

In order to customize all your favorite functions, you can use the ‘Customize’ setting in this new menu and will be able to add the bookmarks toolbar back from there. See the Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars article for more info.
