How do I create a Smart Folder?

Smart Folders help you manage multiple email accounts by combining special folders like your Inbox, Sent, or Archive folder. Instead of going to the Inbox for each of your mail accounts, you can see all of your incoming email in one Inbox folder. How do I set this up? Anybody know? Thanks

Call them unified folders and you will do better in all regards I would guess. Smart folders was the name used in the add-on that developed the feature and is still used internally, but everything in the user interface calls them unified folders now.

I understand the latest version of Thunderbird has a handy drop down list on the top of the folder pane to allow switching to the unified view.

Otherwise. Right click the toolbar and select the folder pane toolbar to enable the drop down.

Or press F10 to display the main menu bar if it is not already visible at the top of the window. Select the view menu and make your selection from the folders sub menu.

Or use the toolbar menu > Folders > unified
