Hi, is it setup to do that ? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/search-web-address-bar

If so try : Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove your Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not remove your Firefox profile data (such as bookmarks and passwords), since that information is stored in a different location.

To do a clean reinstall of Firefox, please follow these steps: Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.

  1. Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
  2. After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu New Fx Menu and click the close button Close 29).
  3. Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    • Windows:
      • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    • Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    1. Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not use a third party uninstaller as part of this process. Doing so could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. These cannot be easily recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device! See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.

Please report back to say if this helped you!

Thank you.

What search engine is selected?

  • Options/Preferences -> Search

I just realized that this is sort-of what my issue is, but I am having multiple other problems.

Wiin10/FF 62.0.3 Adblock Plus Just updated to .0.3 yesterday (from .2).

Settings are to return to that same email. While reading an email, the rest of the mail also returns to the top. Also, when I check off a series to delete or move, same thing as above (a delay).

3. In search, it usually does nothing, even when I choose a website from the drop-downs below. On the second try, it will work. Also, new tabs used to open immediately. NOW, I've already started typing a new url - or keyword - before the tab is available. Same kind of issue or separate?

I tested in Safe Mode on Monday and removed HTTPS Everywhere. It sped up the browser phenomenally. Prior to this week, I reinstalled FF mid-September. Glad Safe Mode nullified the need to refresh or reinstall.

(Wrote to EFF re their addons. Haven't heard back yet. Used to always have issues w/Privacy Badger until I uninstalled it again.)

Thank you.

Hi CiaoBella1, you might want to start new questions for everything other than Firefox's address bar or search bar not working.

Regarding Outlook/Hotmail, could you review the following long thread and see whether that is the same issue you're having or whether it's a possibly related issue:

Problems with beta outlook email and Moziila

You could continue there if you have that same issue instead of starting a new Outlook thread, if you prefer.

Jscher2000 - how are you?

Nah - the OL stuff is utterly useless. Clear cache/cookies for bouncing mails. I clear cache several times a day, every day. I clear cookies once a day. No change.

I am happy to start a new post. I'll edit the page shortly.

Thank you.

This is not my problem and I have no idea why you think it is.

Nobody thinks it is - CiaoBella1 posted in your thread because one of their problems seems similar to yours.

Jscher2000 suggested that CiaoBella1 could start new questions pertaining to the issues that are off topic here ......

Hi craigc2210, how is your Firefox working these days? Are you able to search?

If you want to unsubscribe from this thread, come back and look at the section to the right of your question labeled "Question Tools". There is a button/link there to "Stop Email Updates".

PLEASE STOP sending me these emails. I DO NOT have a problem with searches. I only wish that I could get this much help when I actually do have a problem! Unsubscribe me from this nonsense NOW!!!

Jscher2000 told you how to unsubscribe : Go to your original post - to the right you will see : "Question Tools" and under that you'll see : "Stop Email Updates". All you have to do is click on that button ....

You posted a question here in July, and the header reads :

" My search bar will not work no matter what I type on it. "

People posted answers, but you never replied .....
