Firefox hangs if I set it to clear private data on exit

Firefox 62.0.1 on Android 7

If I select the "Site settings" checkbox from the list of data to clear, firefox hangs with the "Clearing private data ..." message at the bottom of the screen when I choose Quit. I let it sit there for an hour with no change.

- I can use the "Clear private data" item from the menu with no problem - None of the other check boxes ( in the list of data to clear on exit) cause any problem

The only way to fix this turned out to be uninstall / re-install, but that brought up a whole host of problems, including no way to export bookmarks, and no way to export saved logins.
