I was stupid. I wanted an icon and agreed to download a conversion program. The darned think highjacked my new tabs box on the header of each new page and is now using its own search engine, etc. How do I get rid of this thing? It doesn't appear as an application in my application menu, or as an app in the launchpad. Kathy256

Hello,

The Refresh feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Thank you.

In addition to the above :

"FromDocToPDF' is a browser hijacker, malware that you will want to get rid of.

See : https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/216353-removal-instructions-for-fromdoctopdf/

Go to the Firefox menu (≡) Preferences => Add-ons => Extensions And see if FromDoctoPDF is listed there - if so : remove it.

Next step : run malwarescans.

Further information can be found in this article : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. They all work differently - what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.

Especially for Mac : https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

And : https://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-mac-os-x-virus/

This worked even though doc2pdf controlled the screen. Thanks!
