Firefox 65 caused HTTPS over DNS failure

I noticed once version 65 on my MAc running high sierra was updated that it no longer was using HTTPS over DNS but instead defaulted to my local DNS IP.

To correct the issue I deselected the selection for "enable DNS over HTTPS" and reslected again followed by a restrt of Firefox.

Is this a known problem for version 65?

It was verified using cloudflares site.

I found it to be accurate as I noticed previous fall backs to my local DNS which I also verified via a network sniffer.
