Verizon.com and StateFarm.com do not allow me to login where they did in the recent past.
Verizon.com and StateFarm.com do not allow me to login where they did in the recent past. After the login attempt, the Verizon screen keeps refreshing and the StateFarm screen displays code. I can login to these websites using other browsers. I was able to use FireFox to login to these sites until the last FireFox update. Can you please tell me when the next FireFox Update will be and if there is anything else I can do about this problem. Thank you!

Hi Curleyhead, this kind of issue is usually related to cookies, either cookies being blocked or cookies for the sites being corrupted. The reason is that sites check whether you have a cookie proving you logged in and, if they don't find it, they redirect you back to the sign in page.
This article describes how to liberalize cookie settings in case they are too restrictive: Websites say cookies are blocked - Unblock them.
To remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first):
While viewing a page on the site, click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that.
In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
If you have any add-ons that might block content or modify how cookies work (including containers), this is a general diagnostic step:
Testing in Firefox's Safe Mode: In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox. (On Mac, hold down the option/alt key instead of the Shift key.)
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Thank you jscher2000. A couple of questions before I proceed.
1. Removing a sites cookies will only remove those sites cookies and no other cookies?
2. Are cookies browser dependent? Because I was able to successfully login to those 2 sites with Safari and Chrome. I very much prefer FireFox though.

The dialog list the sites that will be affected. If you see something that doesn't belong, you can cancel before removing.

Yes, each browser has its own "cookie jars".
That did the trick! Thank you so much Jscher2000. Would you happen to know if FireFox has a screen recorder? I know it allows me to take a screenshot but I'd like to record some screen sequences in mp4 format. I'd like to annotate them for learning purposes also. If not, would you know of any other screen recorder that I could look into that would allow me to annotate and produce mp4 files? Thanks so much for your help. I'm so glad I can continue to use FireFox for those sites.
