Firefox instruction is to start recovering by using the bookmarks manager, but...

... I can't find it! Windows did a big update the other day that messed up everything on my laptop. Now that most of that has been fixed and I'm trying to get online again, I find that all of my bookmarks are gone. Help, please! Where is the bookmarks manager so I can try to get them back?

Are you using this article: Recover lost or missing Bookmarks?

The bookmarks manager is called the Library. To call that up, either press Ctrl+Shift+b or click "Show All Bookmarks" on the Library menu under Bookmarks.

Somtimes a major Windows update will preserve your data in a folder named

C:\Windows.old

Can you find such a folder on your system?

If so:

Before proceeding, please set Windows to show you hidden files and folders: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14201/windows-show-hidden-files

Then check here:

C:\Windows.old\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

You might just have one profile folder, or you might have more than one.

Anything so far?
