Clicking on a link does not connect 25% of the time

About 25% of the time when I click on a link in YouTube or other places, or open in a new tab, the new tab appears but there is no "hourglass" to say it is processing. If I close the tab and do it again it works and there is an hourglass and then it completes. I think it started with 84.01 but got better on 84.0.2 but still happens maybe 10% of the time. Thanks

Is this with all websites/pages, some, a few?

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

How to disable Hardware Acceleration {web link}

This morning after normal stuff, I stopped FF, held the shift key down and restarted in safe mode. Went to the home page for YouTube and then started "right clicking and opening in a new tab." I got into about 15-20 and then one opened to the name but not the "action hour glass". Usually I close the broken start, then do the same one again and I don't believe that has ever not started twice the second time. As I said I think it started with 84 with once in every other or every third time, it got a bit better in 84.0.1 and a bit better in 84.0.2. Guess we'll see with 85 as I think it id due out Jan 26th. Thanks
