ZOOM meetings

When in a ZOOM meeting, I am 'told' that Firefox is preventing me from unlocking my microphone. I have followed the instructions to remedy this (click on the padlock), but I am not given the drop down list that I am told I would get, and there is nothing to allow me to use the microphone. This is the 4th time I have entered the question ...no answer!

How do you enter a zoom meeting? After I have used a browser to enter a meeting, the Zoom app opens and I close the browser.

Hi Kathie, try pre-granting microphone permission using the Page Info dialog. While you are on the relevant page, you can call that up using either:

  • Ctrl+i (for Mac, Command+i)
  • right-click a blank area of the page > View Page Info
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info

When the dialog comes up, click the Permission icon at the top to show that panel.

Scroll down to "Use the microphone" and uncheck the "Use default" box, and then select "Allow". Any difference?
