Thunderbird triggering AOL Pop-up ads from Yahoo

Does anyone know how to stop receiving these popup ads when retrieving mail from my AOL pop3 account in Thunderbird? This seems to have started just this week (Aug 1, 2022). The ads open in a separate window on my Windows 10 Desktop whenever I click 'Get Messages' for this account, or when triggered automatically by the 'Check for new messages' timer in settings.

Thanks for any help

It's not just an ad - it's OAuth2 authentication.

Thank you sfhowes for the link. It solved the problem.

Additional Info: In Thunderbird, I went to Preferences > Privacy & Security > Accept cookies from sites (left it unchecked) > Exceptions... Added https://www.aol.com and set Status as Allow.

Thanks again for your help.
