Why can't I use the Feedback Button in 4.0 Beta 1 (it says I need to update)?

I'm trying to use Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 and wanted to send Feedback. When I click on Feedback it brings up the following text: "Oh! So, you want to offer us feedback on the next version of Firefox. Thank you, but you'll need to be a part of our Beta Program. To join, simply go to our download page and get the latest Firefox Beta!"

It then takes me to the download page for Firefox 4.0 Beta 1. I've checked my About page, and it gives me the 4.0b1 version.

I haven't restarted my computer yet, but it never asked me to, either.

Please help

I posted the question before making an account, but I have something to add. I've now restarted my computer, and the same thing is still happening.

Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up by another program that you installed. The Feedback page thinks you're using 3.0.10 . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent

type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page. Filter = general.useragent. Right-click the preferences that are bold, one line at a time, and select Reset, Then restart Firefox

Thank you so much!! That did it:)

When I type in about:config in the url space, I get the normal warning, "This might void your warranty". I press, "I'll be Careful, I promise" and absolutely nothing happens. help please.

I've tried using the about:config process twice. Each time it appears to work. However, when I restart Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 again and try to provide feedback, I still get the same response that I need to install Firefox 4.0 Beta 1. There's not much point being in the Beta "program" if I can't provide any feedback.

That about:config recommendation that I made to the OP in this thread was to solve his problem with an incorrect UserAgent string that was caused by the Ant Toolbar extension.

That "Feedback" problem happens for me too, but I have attributed it to my using the Portable Firefox 4.0b1 version. Now I suspect that Mozilla hasn't turned that feature on yet?
