Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.

You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.

browser.gesture.pinch.in -> cmd_fullZoomReduce
browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> cmd_fullZoomReset
browser.gesture.pinch.out -> cmd_fullZoomEnlarge
browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> cmd_fullZoomReset
browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> false

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

it seems to work. thanks for this info. i feel like a pro :)) however i have to say ...what a stupid and annoying thing to do to cancel the pinch function ...firefox....wake up.

I've entered the values posted above, but now it only zooms out. I can't zoom in, is anyone else having this problem?

I also got it to work but I really don't understand why you would remove this awesome function. Please make it possible to choose under Settings at least. Thanks!

I also made the changes, and it still does not work... should this also be changed? browser.gesture.pinch.threshold;150

I can't figure out how to make these changes.

Why the heck would Firefox has programmed these touchpad features out? If I have to spend much more time on it -- many hours already -- I'll just go back to using Safari. I really like being able to enlarge the type easily on the touchpad. Why did Firefox do this lame-o change?

Why not make it much easier to fix? like put it under settings? This should be my choice, not Firefox. I have used Firebox exclusively for a long long time but this is enough to get me to switch to Chrome. Firefox 4 is so much like Chrome anyway . . . .I actually liked Chrome but stuck with Firefox cause I am loyal. Now I wish I hadn't upgraded. Upgrades always mess up things but this touchpad glitch seems really dumb.

I made the changes in "about:config" page and it's working perfectly. I spent 2 minutes to do it.

i entered all the cmd info, but i can only zoom in. why the hell would firefox mess around with these settings to begin with? i have to use safari all the time now and it sucks..
