how do you add the 'new tab' button back up in the navigation bar?

In the older version of ff I added a 'new tab' button next to the navigation window. When I upgraded tot he newest version of FF the button was still there - but then I (stupidly) went into the 'customize toolbar' bit just to play around and clicked 'restore default' assuming i could just add the 'new tab' button back onto the navigation bar but then it appears it's been taken out of the options of customizable options. Is there any way to get that back?

If you drag new tab button from the tab bar to the toolbar, it will become a toolbar button.

I tried doing that as well but I can't seem to drag the new tab button from the tab bar (i'm using firefox 5 - I think I used to be able to do that on the last version). - the new tab wont' drag anywhere...
