The back and forward arrows do not work, they and subdued.

The question says it all the forward and back arrows in the address bar do not work and are subdued in colour.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Another possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Thank you, that did not solve the problem but I did learn a little more about firefox. Still looking for the answer.
