I have a 14 year old son that I believe is using private browsing when on the internet. How do I check his history and sites that he's been to?

My 14 year old is on web site that I deem inappropriate. I've tried every measure that I am knowledgeable of to block websites that are adult rated and more, but he is more technologically advance than I am. How can I view the websites that he is visiting?

Hi fdurrah-

Unfortunately for your question, the purpose of private browsing is to not leave data behind, so there is no easy way to read his history. Your options are limited if you share a computer and he is able to side-step the measures you have taken. You might look into creating separate user profiles for Browser usage, but this is a more advanced user tool: Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles .

If you want to see which sites have been visited then you should look at others means outside Firefox like a router or firewall with a password protected logging feature that can't be bypassed or a program like Wireshark.
