Both Firefox and Thunderbird crash on startup. I get the "I'm sorry...." box when I click on each program. Firefox will also not open in SafeMode...same crash message appears. Both programs seemed to work fine yesterday then the problem appeared today. I have performed a full system scan to check for virus/malware etc but came up clean using Norton with the latest data file. I also just updated Adobe Flash player but it did not fix the problem.

Unable at the moment to get the crash report, any other crash ID available ?

  • crash report cb8045ad-099f-4c6c-a3d5-a98092111115
  • Signature: js::Bindings::getLocalNameArray(JSContext*, js::Vector<JSAtom*, int, js::TempAllocPolicy>*)
  • I am wondering if it is related to Bug 691847 - Firefox Startup Crash @ js::Bindings::getLocalNameArray

I suggest you update to Firefox 8, (which is itself being updated to 8.0.1 at least on Mac s very shortly due partly to crashing problems).

Probably worth keeping an eye on contributors forum: /forums/contributors/707773?last=43589&page=2#post-43587

I did note some comments about explosive crash reports on Firefox 7, and clearly Firefox 8 is also having problems.
