Google search results disappear after one second; turns to a white blank page. This only happens on my PC (Win 7 x64) and has been a problem for more than a year. Other search engines work fine in Firefox. Google works fine in other browsers. I have Norton Internet Security and Anti-Malwarebytes.

Perhaps this is redundant with what you've already tried, but just in case:

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache

Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.

Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Also, in case it's one of your extensions:

You could try Firefox's Safe Mode, a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

The problem is AutoPager; I don't know which version started the problem? I disabled Google in AutoPager. I love that extension. I'm going to try and fix it. I checked the website forum and can clearly see their will be no support from there. Thanks, I can't explain why I didn't think of it.

For autoloading Google results and many other tweaks, you could consider the userscript GoogleMonkeyR. Like other userscripts, it requires the Greasemonkey extension (Scriptish might also work if you prefer).

Note: Please be cautious in installing newer scripts from userscripts.org. There has been a rash of bots duplicating popular scripts and inserting malware targeting the user's Facebook account.
