Browser freezing and hangs

For some reason whenever I use any browser on my computer (HP DV7 with Windows 7 operating system) the browser will freeze up and not respond. It will load ONLY when I'm constantly moving the mouse, the second I take my finger off the trackpad, the browser will immediately stop responding, and when I begin to move the mouse, normal functions will begin, and webpages will load. It also happens when viewing videos online, such as on Youtube, or watching movies on Netflix, the video will stop the moment I take my finger off the trackpad, and when I move the mouse again, the video will play. It also happens on any other browser I use, (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, etc) I'm not sure if it's a virus or what, but it only happens when I'm on an internet browser. I can do anything else on my computer, but when I open up a browser, the problem persists.

hello, there has been a fix released that should address this problem, so please update your firefox like this: go to firefox > help > about firefox which will trigger the update to firefox 25.0.1.

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/25.0.1/releasenotes/

edit: there seems to be a scheduled shutdown of the update server and other services for maintenance work currently - you can download the new version manually from https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/
