I want the strip of my browser that has file, edit, view, history, bookmarks, tools, help to start right in the top left hand corner.

I do not want the drop down orange box thing that is 4mm high by an inch wide to be there at the top left corner. I want it to look like any other browser I have had before the recent update.

Firefox 29 doesn't have any longer that orange "box" it was removed.

What did you install after the update which added that box back into Firefox 20?

I added Classic Theme restorer. So I guess my real question would be what do I do to get a Classic theme back without that orange box.

If you uses Classic Theme Restorer add-on, then you have the possibility to hide application button. (earlier yellow Firefox menu)

You can right-click the Navigation Toolbar or Tab bar and make sure that the Menu bar has a checkmark.
