I have a number of folders in bookmarks, and I edit it frequently by clicking "Show All Bookmarks" and opening a Library. Previously, after clicking Bookmarks button, "Show All Bookmarks" appeared on top of the list, and now it's at the bottom. Please, add double click function on Bookmarks button so that it opens Library window directly.

You could file a bug to request this feature if no one has already done so. But the change will have been carefully considered and it is unlikely to be reversed.

What you could also do is add a comments using Feedback

If you wish to go back to a style mote like the of Firefox 28 or e=earlier consider using addons

Note we are only fellow Firefox users NOT developers and decision makers. Discussion of development decisions and policy or or feature requests are off topic.

I added a feedback. I also added a bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1017597

I don't think it's a style problem because there was never a double click or some faster way to open Library. I'm not aware of the addon that solves this.

I misunderstood slightly what you were asking.

The bookmarks star needs to be clicked a second time otherwise the bookmark is made in the unsorted bookmarks, the second click allows you to put it elsewhere.

Presumably a design / UX decision based on metrics showing most times users want the bookmarks in the unsorted folder.

The show all bookmarks on the dropdown is a separate issue and bugs are already fixed on that. I am using Firefox 31 at the moment and show all bookmarks is at the top of that menu now. See also

  • Bug 129480 - bookmarks menu automatically scroll up

Firefox 32 has further changes with the recently bookmarks also being easily seen and the easy to miss dropdown scroll arrows being removed.

  • Bug 999184 - Implement recent bookmarks view in the bookmarks menu

(On the presumption the Release will remain the same as current pre-release versions)

Thank you, but I don't find it related. I'm not spekaing about bookmark star (add/edit bookmark), rather about Show YOUR/ALL Bookmarks. Apart from recent bookmarks, which might be useful, I want always to be able to open Library to edit bookmarks.

I find current Show YOUR Bookmarks fine, but I simply want to double click Bookmarks button to get to Show ALL Bookmarks, and not to click once, scroll, click again.

It is quite a reasonable idea, and it may even be accepted and introduced.

Note however there are already many ways to do tasks bookmarks related. That includes

  • Opening the Bookmarks manager with
    • a keyboard shortcut (usually Ctrl+Shift+ B)
    • An option from the dropdown bookmarks menu
  • Right clicking on the current page
  • Clicking the Bookmarks star twice
As in the article Bookmarks in Firefox
(Complete with with screenshot animation and video)
  • Bookmarks sidebar (open with Keyboard Shortcurt Ctrl+B) and right click for new bookmark
