Reloaded V32 and all problems disappeared. With v33 rectangular and radio buttons either could not be seen or would not work. Strangely, this was not always the case. I was unable to complete payment transactions on eBay, but could operate eBay normally otherwise. At the beginning of this question / reporting process there is a blue box button with "Ask this Question" . That button appears only as an underscore-like symbol and will not function in V32. I had to return to V32 to be able to send this. The doubling of text appears as astigmatism, with one piece of text skewed and overlapping the other. It would be nice to know when the bug has a solution, so that V32 can be used.

I would have reported this as a bug, but it would seem that I have to have yet another password beyond the two Mozilla PWs I have already, and one has to draw the line somewhere :]

Thanks for being there, and doing a great job helping to solve new release problems!

Sorry, there is a typo in the original question: Half way through, V32 should read V31.

I assume that you are referring to this line?

I had to return to <strike>V32</strike> V31 to be able to send this

I'm not sure about the first line with Firefox 32 and Firefox 33:

Reloaded V32 and all problems disappeared. With v33 rectangular and radio buttons either could not be seen or would not work.

So you have this problem in Firefox 32 and in Firefox 33?

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

Thanks, and sorry once again for the confusion. To be clear: the latest version causes the problems cited (doubled text and missing or apparently inactive buttons), but when the old version is reloaded the problems disappear. In order to take screen shots I would first have to reload v33, and in that case may well have problems replying, due to the button problem. I am also reluctant to do that only for the purpose of pictures to go along with the words. The screen shots may not be more useful than the description provided of blurred text due to offset/doubling, and with regard to the previously cited "question asking" button, this button is a box in blue in v32 but I can see almost nothing of the button in v33. As mentioned, this occurs with various other web sites, such as eBay.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
