javascript not supported
My company has asked its employees to register with ADP Freedom, which I have done using Internet Explorer at my work desk. ADP boasts that any browser may be used to access its services and my home default browser is Fx 32.0. However, when I follow the link provided, a page is displayed showng the following:
=
Incompatible Browser: Unfortunately the browser you are using does not have a sufficient level of functionality to support this application.
Browser Information: Browser: Unknown Version: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0
Frames Supported: No Tables Supported: Yes JavaScript Supported: No
=
Javascript is turned on at about:config, and Fx is running in Safe Mode using the Default theme.
Can you help?
Richard

It looks like ADP Freedom documentation has some insight/instructions on how to do this: https://portal.adp.com/public/Getting.../designating_your_internet_browser_settings.htm#Mozilla__Firefox%C2%AE
The Help page at ADP Freedom does not help me. The options it quotes are not available to me using Firefox 32.0.3. I followed the 'test your browser' link from Mozilla Support at the following URL and Firefox passed all the tests, includng supporting Javascript.
You are not running the current version of Firefox. But that should not be a problem.
With the last Firefox upgrade, some plugins are no longer enabled until you enable it.
Type about:addons<Enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)
On the left side of the page, select Plugins.
BTW; At the top right is a link to check your plugins.
Also, check the permissions for that page.
Go to the web page. Once the page is loading, mouse to the address bar and Left click the icon. A window for displaying site information should come up. Select More Information. Now select Permissions. In the menu, find the plugin, and set it to Never or Ask. This action will only effect that one site.
I am now using the up-to-date version of Fx, all my plugins are up-to-date, but ADP Freedom still says I'm using an incompatible browser.
See if this can help

Is this using a normal or a secure https connection?
Are there any icons on the location/address bar that content is blocked?
Are there any errors reported in the Web Console that are related to JavaScript?
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer). Check on the Network tab if content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).
Make sure that your security software isn't blocking JavaScript.
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.
Is this using a normal or a secure https connection? Secure https
Are there any icons on the location/address bar that content is blocked? The only blocked items are Install Add-ons and Open Pop-up Windows.
Are there any errors reported in the Web Console that are related to JavaScript? No.
You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer). Check on the Network tab if content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero). Not sure how to read the Network tab.
Noticed Pop-Ups are blocked. Yesterday I tried to access the same site using IE and the site opened pop-ups galore. I'm quite sure it wouldn't work at all if pop-ups were disabled. However, enabling Firefox pop-ups for this site doesn't help.
Did you check the settings in your security software for Firefox?
You can reload the page via F5 or Ctrl+F5 (bypass the cache) to generate the log on the Network tab.
I've looked through various settings in Avast Free Antivirus but I can't find anything related to blocking Firefox. Attached is the Web Console view.
Try this website to see if javascript is working: http://www.enable-javascript.com/. Also, there are instructions to enable it on the site. Try them if you haven't yet.
