No question, but a comment. I am stopping using firefox because it insists on using yahoo as a browser.

I cannot stand using yahoo search, but Firefox keeps defaulting to yahoo, no matter how many times I set google as my default browser in my preferences. Just to let you know that is why I will no longer use Firefox.

Very easy to change the default search engine to use your choice for your searches. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-search-bar-firefox-and-manage-search-engines See - Set a default search engine

Try this : Type about:config into url bar > Hit Enter. Click on I'll be careful,I'll promise . Search "browser.search.defaultenginename.US" and double click on it . Change the Name from yahoo to google . Restart browser and go for a search. it will work sure.

Firefox itself is the web browser. The Yahoo is a search engine and is the default in en-US Firefox ever since Firefox 34.0.

If there is still a problem,

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove yahoo Anything. Now do the same in the computers Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

After; Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
