On my iMac ,eBay password is always available. Have ticked box to not reveal password,so I have to sign in. When I go to eBay the password is shown in a series of dots. Anybody can access my account and purchase items. This is a very insecure site and have tried everything to erase password from this account.

You can remove the stored password here:

  • Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"

Use these steps to remove saved (form) data from a drop-down list:

  1. click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list
  2. highlight an entry in the drop-down list with the mouse or cursor Down key
do not click the mouse or press the Enter key
  3. press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to delete the highlighted entry

You can set signon.autofillForms to false to prevent Firefox from filling name and password automatically.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
