I have been having serious scrip errors using firefox since the middle of January. I am using version 43.0.4. I changed to safe mode and still get the errors. I have tried the refresh feature and it did not work. I recently updated Java version 8 update 71 and also updated Adobe reader version 2015.0 10 20056. I even went so far as to upgrade to Windows 10 yesterday hoping that would help but no luck.

I have read just about every thread on here about script errors that end with "yeah thanks you fixed it", the thread gets closed and then the user has the script error again so it doesn't seem to ever get resolved. Any help is appreciated as I have spent hours on this!

It has been a day and a half with the upgrade of Firefox to version 43 and although I can hear my computer RAM ramp up when I visit some pages, no script errors have occurred so I believe that resolved my problem. Thanks for your help!

I was just prompted by Firefox to update to version 44 so I did it. I will work as normal and post if I do not have script errors.

Does the error still occurs? Firefox 44 release.

What is the whole error message?

http://redir.adap.tv/redir/javascript/adaptvInfo.js:1 but that is just the most recent...I also received script error from gmail page, huffington post, and other pages. Since I have upgraded to version 43 earlier today, no errors but I will wait and see.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/warning-unresponsive-script. Read this. This from YesScript: "Unlike NoScript, YesScript does absolutely nothing to improve your security. I believe that Firefox is secure enough by default and that blocking all scripts by default is paranoia. YesScript strives to remove hassles from your browsing experience, rather than add them". NoScript blocks everything until you allow them. You can allow scripts one by one temporally to see what happens to the page. Most pages will give you the experience you want without any scripts. When I don't see what I expect I'll allow the scripts temporally one at a time until I do. Then depending on the page make them permanent or leave them temporary. Since this problem started in January I would be thinking virus or adware. I assume you did not do a clean Win 10 install so if you are infected the up grade would not help. Run Anti-Malware and Adware Cleaner. This is a list I gleaned from another question and it looks like a good start to me.

    Microsoft Safety Scanner
    MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
    Anti-Rootkit Utility - TDSSKiller
AdwCleaner (for more info, see this alternate AdwCleaner
     download page)
    Hitman Pro
    ESET Online Scanner

cryptolocker was found in an add on Huffington post. That was fixed a long time ago. But it points out that even the best web sites on the net can't stop everything.

Glad to hear. NoScript keeps nosy web sites out of your business and as an added bonus saves memory. By the way that nose you hear is not ram it's your Hard Drive. The longer it runs the shorter it lives. It's like a car. If you park it in the garage and never drive it, it last forever. If it's a taxi you'll need a new one every year.
