Enter in body behaves badly

So, the style is paragraph. I sort of got that. However, several times when I typed "Enter" a blank line was entered and then when I typed another letter at the beginning of the next paragraph another blank line was entered.

But that is not all. I typed a line at the end of the message. Then I am not sure what happened (I might have typed an "Enter" and deleted it) but from that point on I could not type an enter to type something after the last line. What happened is that the whole line would move down a line leaving two or more blank lines from the the text above.

As the summary suggests, "Enter" behave badly.
