No matter what I do any email from an aol.com account goes into my junk mail file, I have the names in my personal address book and have told Thunderbird it is not junk, but the email still goes there.

You have done the proper steps, the people are in your address book, so Thunderbird will not treat e-mails from them as Junk.

If you look at those e-mails in the Junk folder, you will probably notice that there is no orange flame icon beside them. That orange flame icon will show if Thunderbird put the e-mail into the Junk folder. The missing orange flame means that Thunderbird didn't put it there.

Your e-mail provider did. Probably because your e-mail provider has received lots of spam from AOL e-mail accounts.

If you tell me the part of your e-mail address after the @ symbol, I may know about your e-mail provider and may be able to help you solve this.

My server is a university. I went to the spam site and added the aol.com address to the save list. Thanks for the help.
