Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad / pop-up blocker.

I know that, but , the more add-ons, the more 'clutter' and slowness of ff. Also, -> "When Firefox 57 gets released in November 2017, Firefox will drop its old add-on system in favor of the relatively new WebExtensions system." https://www.ghacks.net/2017/04/27/if-firefox-57-would-be-released-today-2274-add-ons-would-be-compatible/

I mean here, when one 'right-clicks on a advert-window on a website, there is lots of info, like i.e. "inspect element" etc. , but not a simple "block this window/source" or something ....

Some add-blockers can be set up to block a source.

As to v57 add-ons, it's up to the programmers to keep their add-ons compatible.

OK, i know that there is good add/popup-blockers. Though, usually, ALL elements are blocked with such adblockers, and i cannot see, which is 'good for me', or which 'annoys me' . When i want TO SEE FIRST, what elements on a website are 'good to stay', or which elements i want to block, coz they 'annoy me' , by 'right-click' on such 'annoy-element', and simply block it ... thats what i mean ... ;)

Try Extensions Ublock Origin and Ghostery follow up with Fat-Free Fox and the last one should cure lagging that installing 2 blockers does.

Both of these blockers can be configured to block or not certain address coming in which effect the view of the webpage. Ghostery will put a element on the page that you can .......anyways these are suggested for what you are trying to accomplish.

I guess if they only ran on linux. Would you not be better off discussing this in a Linux Forum and hear what others have suggest and or use themselves ? Nothing like sharing info.
