cant open localhost:8000

Hello I am on the process of developing a cms based website, the run server was successful at the beginning and my files are created as .py but now I cant open my localhost:8000 in the mozilla firefox Please suggest me. Showing below msg --- Unable to connect

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8000.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Can other browsers find a server on port 8000? Are there any system utilities to check that you have a listener on that port?
