On Thunderbird 52.7.0 (32-bit): "From" in list emails includes name of someone who did NOT send the messsage. Can I change this?

"From" data I get consists of an name and email followed by the name of the Yahoo group in [ ] brackets. But the name and email are NOT the actual sender; it's someone else in that Yahoo group.

Is this another Yahoo Groups problem? or an add-on? or can I do something in TBird to change it?

Looking at the message source, the "X-Sender" and "X-Original-From:" are correct. And the incorrect sender's name & email are nowhere in the source.

I'd like to see the actual sender's name if possible -- or else just the group name -- in the Sender or the Correspondents column. What do you think.

There is an option to turn off the use of the address book to populate the from details, but really for most people it is better they see uncle mick as they think of him than Micheal Jones III. It just help to be aware the address book is used.

go to your address book and remove the entry for the "someone else"

Looks like that is, in fact, where Thunderbird is pulling the data from. I went into my address books, did a search on "noreply" and deleted all those "somebody elses". Should work, I'll let you know if it doesn't. Thanks -- Howard Ballinger
