Can not delete browser history or cache in Firefox Quantum 60.0.2 running under Windows 10 ver 1803 build 17134.112. I've followed Mozilla instructions to no avail. On a blank tab, entering a character in the URL bar brings up a list of previously visited websites. Suggestions or assistance will be appreciated.

History: [v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox.

Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.

You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.

Cache: Location of the cache/cache2 folder; Windows: *C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\ Mac: ~/Library/Caches/Firefox/Profiles/ Linux: ~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/

Close Firefox. Open your file browser to the above, and remove the folder.

Make sure you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
  • remove checkmark: [ ] "Always use Private Browsing mode"
