Hate to mention the other product, but MS outlook has the ability to 'allow in-cell editing' on most of their fields (view settings -> Other settings), and the ability to add custom fields to folders. Is there any way to do this in Thunderbird, or a plugin/add-on that will add this type of functionality. Currently I use TB for 90% of my email - I will be a 100% user if this is an option or could be added into dev for future updates. Thank you, JR

Not sure exactly how this translates into TB, but you can edit the entire source of a message with HeaderToolsLite. Other add-ons are available to edit Subjects:

sfhowes - Thank you for the information. I installed the HeaderToolsLite, and that does work fine (hot key of 'E' to avoid all the right clicking).

I will test the other one as well, just haven't had time to read all the information on it to see if it really does much more than HeaderToolsLite.

Now I just have to find a way to add columns / custom fields - any suggestions?

There is an add-on, ColumnsWizard, that I got to work in TB 60 by following the instructions in the latest review. There are other add-ons that provide specific custom columns, such as Show Address Only.
